The Buxworth Gala is a community event which takes place at the historic Bugsworth Basin site: the 2015 Gala was the first to be held in over 100 years. The key aims of the organiser, Mark Lomas, in relaunching the event were to bring the local community together, provide a family fun day out and raise funds for local community organisations.
The following companies have kindly agreed to be co-sponsors for 2016 Gala.

- Kelsa Truck Products based in Chapel-en-le-Frith specialises in the design and manufacture of high quality light bars and accessories for the trucking Industry.
- Selden Research Ltd – Develops and manufactures cleaning and hygiene chemicals for both the professional and retail sectors.
- S. Drinkwaters & Son Ltd – Builders and Plumbers, DIY Supplies.
Beneficiaries for 2016
The nominated beneficiaries for 2016 are St James Church, Buxworth Primary School, Buxworth Pre- School, Buxworth Cricket Club, Buxworth Football Club and Bugsworth Basin Heritage Trust. All of these local organisations are actively involved in the Gala and are also providing volunteer support on the build-up, open days and pull down days.
Limited Car Parking at the Gala
The location of the Gala is the Bugsworth Canal Basin therefore we have limited car parking space available. We would strongly advise visitors to consider parking outside Buxworth and walking along the canal towpath or tramway to reach the venue.
